The more exams I do the worse my scores get. What is going on?

Guys how do you start your TR essays?

I just watched the vTextbook vid and it is recommended to start off with a general idea that sets up the context of the text. I have neverrrr done this before!! I have always started with my contention :|

What do you guys do?

my motivation level for studying is soo up and down right now...like on Monday I was full on motivated to attempt on writing 3 english essays timed like in the english exam and then Tuesday and today I barely did anything.

Although I still try to do at least ONE practise exam if i can which at this stage of revising for exams is unacceptable.

A general idea is good since it is like background information in a sense. Really depends on the book too.For a chirstmas Carol, I always start off talking about the industrial revolution or the social context etc....

My English teacher's suggestion was a little unorthodox but I think it works very well.
He suggested choosing a specific moment or quote from the text that reveals something about your viewpoint on the topic.
This way you're going to bring out your contention, but starting in this way is far more engaging for an examiner who has read a gizzlion paragraphs that state the contention and three key ideas for the essay or whatever.

Doing this does take practice but over time it becomes quite easy to do!  :)

Just had my last study period, we all brought food to share for breakfast.
Hash browns, muffins, coffee and PIKLETS - BLOODY AUTO CORRECT - winning.

saying that though, some bacon would have been good too
So full now though, haha.

FINISHED SCHOOL! WOOHOO!

Now back to reality and completing exams. Bugger.

Hey does anyone have the TSSM Methods exam 2 solutions for 2012? I have the exam completed with no solutions. These are our first world problems, lol.

Thanks!
