Politics:
SACS -> 40%
Exam -> 60%
Exam and SACS have equal weighting. 50%.
OR, you must have done REALLY, REALLY well in the global exam
Yeah I think this. However after the English exam I was thinking I would get like 9's minimum and I thought I mucked up the global exam because there was so much I had no idea :P
depends how low and high the A+ was
i got A+ A+ A+ and got 41 in psych LOL
your politics exam must have been a high A+ but your english must have been a low one
hahaha. Yeah I think you're right. Or my B+ was really low. I don't even know how I got an A+ in GA2 for English considering I was fourth quartile at my school and didn't give a shit about any SACS.

On another note, I went to the Monash change of course expo thing. Was pretty bad imo. Went to clayton beforehand and all these people were graduating.

So, what are you guys doing with all your free time? Even with catching up with friends, reading, watching movies, exercising etc, it still seems like I have so much spare time, and with another 2 months of holidays laid out before us, I'm not really sure what to do. I tried applying for jobs, but it was too close to the Christmas window to really have any notable success. At this point I'm actually wishing that uni started a little earlier (wonder if i'll regret saying that in 6 months :P). What do you guys reckon?

I've considered putting that as my 2nd or 3rd preference. Its course structure looks great but I'm not a big fan of the fact that I'm gonna have to do a masters to get a good job later on

Haha yeah, I'm experiencing a sudden burst of motivation after seeing how well other people did, but I don't have anywhere to direct it. AN is slowing down a bit atm too. Can't say I've ever wanted holidays to prematurely end before!

man people were shattered with my ATAR (so was i) LOL
one of the principals asked me if i wanted to see a social worker or something because i got (relatively) low
90.90 gg
at my school though alot of the smaller cohorts were pretty disappointing. me and another student in history were getting high 90s in our sacs all year, and smashing the trial exams. nek minute A on the legit exam and sacs scaled down to A, highest revs score was 38 !!!
put all my eggs in the wrong basket HAHA
and english was very underwhelming, apart from the dux who got high 40s, about 21 people got between 40-42 and nothing higher
very strange cohort too, my school had (one of) the widest range(s) in the state as well, apparently 14-50

A very similar thing happened at my school with English. Everyone got lower than expected

Didn't MHS get like six 50s in English?

Yeah, expectation is a strange thing. I still can't shake off the feeling that I under performed in English, let alone lit and eco. Funny because a year ago I would have been ecstatic, but I suppose a bit of pressure can lead to unrealistic benchmarks for success. Ridiculous that I can't be happy with what I got (in regards to how I perceive my own VCE results), but I suppose seeing the AN cohort doesn't help a great deal, hahah. Apologies for sounding so self-absorbed.

We had similar amounts getting 50s in Methods. Fuark I got 40. Don't even fit in, tbh :( Also, I am not doing Medicine.

Can someone explain how St Kevin's got seven 50s in English? How did they get so many perfect scores? Are the students immensely talented, or are the teachers/resources fantastic? Or is a combination of both?

That is something that has always interested me, because my school hasn't had a 50 in english in a few years now, so it is hard to ascertain what is required to achieve such a score. Why is it that some schools seem to excel in English, year after year?
