Hi guys,
We felt the need to remind you that this forum is a publicly available resource and can be read by anyone.
There's hardly any need to remind you that VCE is a game of rank. Each and every student is lined up according to how well they perform and then given an ATAR based on their performance. Posting up your work can therefore cause problems.
If you choose to post your materials up, your work can be read by anyone and everyone. They can use your ideas to best you in English, they can adapt your essays to suit their ATAR. They can take your rank and steal your score. They can circumvent their difficulties in English through your hard work.
Now obviously, each thread only get a couple-of-hundred reads each, often much less, and with the 42, 000 English students in each cohort that pass through every year, that's hardly anyone that's going to give your work a second's notice.
But, theoretically, it can happen, and you need to be aware of it.
There is, unfortunately, the possibility that you can also get yourself in trouble for collusion.
However, use the subforum and resources provided here tactfully and you can ensure that you don't hurt yourself or anyone else.
When you choose to not copy someone else's work, you choose to not subject yourself to the dangers associated with plagiarism.
When you choose not to reveal your identity on the website (and the internet in general), then you choose to remove any dangers associated with posting your work on the forums
And when you choose to post valuable feedback on the threads already present, you choose to give value to this subforum and resource. You choose to utilize it and ensure it's operation and continuance.
We just need to emphasise that if everyone uses this properly, then everyone benefits. If you choose to take and not give, then the resource withers and dies. If you choose to give and take equally, then everyone, including yourself, benefits, and the overall function of the website is realised - to aid it's users in attaining higher ATARs.
