Honestly I'm more annoyed because its been a long time since I interacted with somebody that still lives in this bubble that money is just a factor of whether your parents give it to you or not. But whatever. Case closed.

Hey could you please elaborate more on your fathers justification on buying you a Mac? I missed it :)

It wasn't really my fathers justification to be honest. :)

I bought an iMac because I wanted it for producing music. Using Logic express which is only available on the OSX. So really, I had no choice in what to buy. I didn't like the mac mini because it was lower specced back then I believe, and also I wanted a screen and the keyboard and so on. But yeah, that's the main reason.

But I recently sold it and used what ever money I could to buy a new Macbook pro. Funny enough, even though I mentioned build quality, I had to return my first one because the hinge was squeaking hahaha.

But yeah, the macbook has pretty much the same power, probably a bit less. But it's portable so I can use it anywhere and make music and my friends places and stuff.

On top of that, it's just curiosity :) I'd like to see what it's like to own a macbook on a daily basis. It's also easier for mum to use than a traditional PC. So she can use it when she wants to go on skype or what ever.

(I'm trying to draw this away from me haha)

If I wanted a Macbook I'll go to Maccas. I don't see the difference in quality.

MacBooks are incredibly light and thin with really good screens. Nothing really comes close in terms of combining features, thinness and weight though.,

If I had to get a macbook it would be a macbook pro with the retina screen but even then the basic model is $1900 without a dedicated graphics card which is a bit of bummer

If you look at the base price for a 13" macbook. Around 1300, also factor in that the retina one uses thinner components and a newer chassis as well as an SSD. You can sort of see where it's coming from at the same time. Then you add Apple Tax. :)

The people which crack me up are those who buy Macs because it's 'hip' and then buy droids and diss iPhones cause that's also hip

The 13" doesnt have a retina screen and has the terrible 1280 x 800 resolution. Also no dedicated graphics card and is thicker and heavier than the new macbook pros.
For $1349 you can get something with much MUCH MUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH better specs albeit a tiny bit heavier

WHAAAATTT!!??

I like google play, I like how you can install apps from your computer and it pushes it to your device. I think iTunes can do that now?

Which phone one do you have? Are you talking about manufacturer support or just support in general? XDA developers has a huge base of programmers and devs for a huge range of droids.

Can I also point out one thing I love about my macbook.

Im not sure if any other notebook can do this (I haven't come across one). But can you open your notebook by pulling just the lid and not touching the base. I love that. Don't ask me why. :P

^^
I do that every day on my UX-31

Getting the latest Android release pushed to your handset appears to be a matter of chance as far as I can tell. iOS is straight away.
Google Play has very few of the apps I want, because nobody wants to port them from iOS because the different handsets have different compatibilities and your market is fragmented.

If you're going to root/custom firmware your phone then sure.
