I got into Science at Monash, got an ATAR of 91.65. What do you reckon the chances of getting into Melbourne are? I thought a first round offer would have been likely ):

I wasn't really disappointed when I saw this, because I was kind of expecting it:

Quote
You have not been made an offer in the main/first general tertiary course round.

If you received an early round offer and enrolled or deferred, that arrangement is still valid.

You will automatically be considered for all courses higher than any you have been offered, if any,
in the second general tertiary course round.

If you wish to be considered by courses lower than one you have been offered in a previous round, if any,
or a course not on your preference list, you can apply for a negotiated course. Information about this
process can be found at http://www.vtac.edu.au/results-offers/offers.html#negotiated.

Note that selection is the responsibility of course authorities within the tertiary institution.
VTAC does not select applicants. If you wish to establish why you were not selected for a course, please
contact the course selection officer at the relevant institution(s), not VTAC.

Please refer to the ABC of offers found at http://www.vtac.edu.au/pdf/publications/abcofoffers.pdf for frequently asked questions.

Seriously? Does that mean that I've got no chance of getting into it this year, or is it still possible to get a second round offer?

Also just realised I got into Science/Engineering which was kind of just a filler for my preferences... I'll have to see if getting into Biomed at Monash is possible if Science at Melbourne isn't

UoM generally only takes in SEAS applicants for second round offers, so you may have to look around at Biomed at Monash as an alternative. Congratulations regardless!

If you want the subjects to be a little more restricted to engineering knowledge, then i'd say environments. If you want to choose some electives out of the scope of engineering/ that could compliment it, i'd say science.
2012-2014. BSc: Neuroscience. University of Melbourne.
2015-2018. Doctor of Optometry. University of Melbourne.

Unlikely to respond to any PMs these days.
