Classfication of non-current asset in cash flow statement?

If a business purchases some shop fitting for example on credit (lets said for $5,000), and they put a deposit down on it for $500 how is this classified in the cash flow statment?

Does the deposit of $500 go into operating activites or investing? (I thought it would be just investing but some people have said otherwise)

Really? i thought deposit would go in operating because it's current. so your saying that say motor vehicle expenses would also be investing because it's relating to non current? ????

its not an expense, its a payment of the non current asset, so it is investing
