Generating Wealth of Nations same as Economics major?

Hi, will the content covered in the university breadth Generating the Wealth of Nations generally be covered in an Economics major (8-10 subjects) anyway? I'm trying to decide whether to go to the info session tomorrow or not. Thanks!

Generating the Wealth of Nations overview

This subject provides an introduction to the development of economic activity in the world in the past 300 years. The main objectives are to present an overview of the main phases and episodes in the evolution of the world economy in the past 300 years, and to develop an understanding of the role of factors such as geography, institutions, technological change and culture in explaining economic development. Bits an pieces will be. This subject sounds more like it'sabout economic history than actual economic studies. In the core economic subjects, you learn more about the theory and the mathematics that drives micro and macro-economic choices and policies. As such, little bits of economic history would be used to give some context to the theory taught.

Having said that, I could well be wrong as I havent personally done the subject.

I ended up going to the session anyway, and you're totally right. I found out that it's also offered as an Economics elective within BComm, so it doesn't affect my breadth as much as I thought it would.
