I'm fairly sure this app your talking about is made for the old study design. I would not consider buying it until it has been updated.
If you really want some extra reading and what not maybe give it a go.

To be honest, there haven't been any major changes to the study design that would be reason to not buy the app. The information is still the same; only some things have been cut from the course. But, a bit of extra knowledge, beyond the course requirements, is still useful in VCE biology.

If you feel you need the extra material, and you're satisfied with the quality of the app, then you may as well get it.
