Subjects!!

Hey guys, i'm in the Bachelor of Science and planning on doing Engineering but i don't know which one to do. So i am thinking of doing Physics and Chemistry and delaying my breadth to the 2nd year, meaning i'll be doing ESD1, ESD2, Calculus 2, Linear Algebra, Physics 1 & 2 and Chemistry 1 & 2. I don't know how hard it will be or if it isn't recommended. Please tell me what that type of course is like with the workload, contact hours, difficulty etc.
Thank you!! xoxo

Very tough. From my estimation, you'll have about 24-25 contact hours per week in each semester - aside from weeks that you don't have pracs (there are only 6 pracs per semester for Chem, 8 for Physics)

If you decide you definitely don't want to do Chem Eng, I'd recommend dropping Chemistry. An introduction to Chem Eng is incorporated into ESD1, so after Semester 1 you can decide whether or not you want to do Chem 2 or not. Also, if you decide you definitely DO want to pursue Chem Eng, you can drop Physics, at least.

I did:

ESD1    Physics 1    Calc 2    Intro. Microeconomics
ESD 2   Physics 2    Lin Alg   Chemistry 1

My semester 2 had 25 hours a week, which was quite a bit compared to the ~20 I had in S1. It does take a toll on you and you have to weigh up if you really need to do these classes to keep everything open. I actually got my average to drop 0.25% so it didn't really affect my results, but  did have to put in a little bit more work.

I recommend you do ESD1, Chem 1, Physics 2 and Calc 2 in first semester and decide which science you'd like to keep / like to drop if any. Especially if you want to do engineering, Chemistry 2 isn't really required at all except for Chem Eng. At least Chemistry 1 has applications in material science and thermodynamics but are done more in depth in later years.

Thank you so much! Both of you have been a great help :D i decided to drop Chemistry all together and take up Japanese for my breadth. And i will take your advice, John President and decide whether i want to do Chemistry after the semester.
Thank you both so much! I really appreciate it :)
