I'm probably doing PE this year and know that the teacher at my school is really, really bad. How complicated is the PE content? Do you think I can teach myself the course through a textbook? If so, which resources should I get? Thanks :)

You can definitely teach yourself the course through a textbook, and you should definitely get your hands on the AN study guide for PE.
✌️just do what makes you happy ✌️

I was in the same position - terrible teacher so i had to teahc myself everything.
The content itself isn't overly hard, there is a lot to remember but it isn't that complicated.
I would recommed getting both the A+ notes and ATAR notes books, they are both brillant.

And just one other piece of advice make sure your know energy systems inside and out including how to apply your knowledge about the systems. This is because the first part of unit 4 relates to energy systems so if you don't get it you want to do well in unit 4. For example you need to know which fitness components relate to each system and you need to know the systems well - this is the part people struggle at.
Also remember that PE is an applied science, you wont do that well if you just rote learn the subject. If you want to do well you will need to lots of questions to get yourself exposed to many different examples and sports which are always used in the exam.

Hope this helps, PM me if you have any other questions :) happy to help

P.E is not hard to teach to yourself.

I've pretty much covered all of outcome 1 for year 12 in around 1-2 days, it's actually really straight forward, but I did units 1&2 and it helped a lot. My teachers giving us OVER A MONTH to learn outcome 1, seriously? :D

Need to remember though, that the though content itself is kina easy there is a lot of it and pe is an applied science.
This is were most people stuff up because they think they can get buy with just rote learning the material.
Just dont forget to do as many questions as you can find and you will be fine. :)
