Mine was something involving beetroot and osmosis and cell plasma membranes back in the day.

Ours involves experiment on movement across the membrane using some different sized agar cubes, I think, similar to what we did in units 1&2 but with more depth and then writing up the prac report.

do you have to write up a prac report? because when we did it i think it was just a PRAC SAC, where we had half the SAC to answer questions about the SAC and we had to apply knowledge to it, and the other half was general theory on osmosis and such

For our SAC we have to write up a report (25marks). In addition to that a chapter 2 normal SAC..so like exam questions etc...(25 marks)
For a duration of 50minutes.

WOW... so does that count as 2 SAC's or just the one.. all of my SAC's were 50 minutes long but all 8 of them were only 25 marks...

:/ pretty sure it counts as one SAC seeing how the report and application questions are counted together within the 50 minutes...(except the results part of the report we complete during the prac.)

I'm not 100% sure what experiment my teacher will be using for the SAC, but I know its on the subject of Plasma Membrane and Transport across the membrane :) Its probably going to observe osmosis and/ord diffusion of substances across the plasma membrane of a plant cell, probably using a potato cube. :)

That was literally the exact same as my first 3/4 bio sac last year, right down to the potato cube!
So if you do get one similar to this, don't hesitate to give me a PM if you need a hand, if I recall that was my favorite SAC.

Woohoo alright do you recall what results you took? I mean, did you take down results of the size of the potato cube, and compare the size of the cube in the hypertonic solution compared to the hypotonic solution?! I'd probably PM you closer to the date of my SAC. Thank you!!
