Hiya guys :)

So I thought maybe you can add any words you know/don't know and have someone define it for you or maybe even post a few words that people may wish to use in their writing.

I find that the best way I learn new - relevant - words is just by reading other essays. The English works directory (English Work Examples Directory) is a good place to start!

I found it better learning vocab words relevant to my specific text response, context and also LA.

For example in Language Analysis, I would make a list of synonyms for 'cause' because that is often used when describing the effect on the reader
- engender
- induce
- instigates etc

you get what i mean.. :)

I think that really helps you in terms of fluidness of your essay and also time, so you're never 'stuck' with what word you should use.

Radical suggestion.
When bored of studies, go play Scrabble!
I've learnt a lot of words playing that :)

This isn't explicitly a VCE-based suggestion, but reading numerous forms of literature massively assists the development of both your vocabulary and your expression. You might not notice it, but as you read a text you subconsciously adopt some of the style of writing.

tl;dr: Get books, read books, repeat for success.

YES! BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ^_^

Whenever I saw a word I didn't know, I would write it down and look it up later. I also made friends with my dictionary and made vocab lists of words which seemed useful or relevant to my texts or SAC tasks. #sad lyf
