SACs involving texts written at home?

I've looked up the study design for English and it seems that 2 of the SACs for the year are able to be completed at home rather than under test conditions in class. Is this correct?

Never heard of such a scenario. Could you quote and link your source?

Generally schools who have SACs like that tend to have weaker English cohorts.

My school had all their Context SACs (mainstream and ESL cohort) as a piece they were able to write at home. For the ESL-cohort, one of the TR SACs we were given the topic the day before.
For our mainstream cohort, 1 in 35 students on average got a perfect 50.
