Allocate+ Preferences (other than 1st)

Haven't submitted my prefs yet and they're due in ~2hrs haha. (had some last minute change ups so I had to remake my TT)

I created my ideal timetable in MUTTS and obviously all those times will be my first prefs.

Should I have created another MUTTS grid for my second prefs?

But more importantly, could someone please explain that clash trick to get your first pref?

What exactly should I be clashing?

I've read that thread before posting but I can't understand what classes to clash.
e.g: should I be trying to clash all my 2nd prefs at the same time etc

Or am I missing something?
