Cadetship interview, need help!

Hi all,
I've got an interview with partners for a cadetship in a few days at a Big 6 law firm, I am just starting university this year with a BCom/LLB. Could anyone point out any tips/advice especially if they have been in a similar position.

I think my main weaknesses are:
I am not confident with strangers, scared I might stuff up or sound too shy
I lack experience with law and by that I mean I've got almost no experience, but I've read up about it before choosing to do an LLB and it seems like something that could engage me. On this point in particular how could I convey my enthusiasm or interest in this field? This is a commercial law firm so I guess that has some relation to business which is a keen interest of mine.

Thanks for any advice and I am happy to clarify anything if that will help you provide better information.

Don't worry about stuffing up too much - they've called you up for an interview, so chances are they like who you are on paper, and just want to get to know you as a person, and assess whether you'd 'fit' in the firm.

Just curious, what does the cadetship entail? Congrats on getting to the interview stage - at the very least, it'll be good experience, so don't stress!

I think be calm, and show general interest/enthusiasm

im assuming you have a keen interest for law, see this as a good opportunity, so show them that.

a part from that, try to be yourself and don't get too caught up in the interview formalities as they can be intimidating. Best of luck and try to stay outside of your head. If you find yourself in your head, try focusing on your breathing.

good luck!

I'm not 100% sure about what the cadetship entails I guess the interview will help me find out more.

Yeah I am interested in law but I cant say its been something I've been passionate about throughout my schooling but I guess this opportunity ties in both commerce and law aspects of my course well.
