I DID! :) I got 35 RAW for both methods and Specialist :)

I think the reason was that the last year methods exam 2 had huge probability questions and very little to none on calculus. Since we do probability at the end of the year it was the least revised topic, plus I'm not as good at it as everything else. So when exam 2 had basically only questions on algebra and probability, and was long and hard it didn't help. Exam 1 was good, but it was the first exam that I had after English in which there was a lot of pressure. And this contributed to me not going as well as I'd hoped to do in methods, but none the less, I was still very happy :)

The spec exams were slightly 'easier' that others in 2012 I thought, and I had done a lot of study for it. I felt confident in that what ever I was presented in the exam room, I could do ok on :)

I actually got higher in Spec than Methods. Relative to what everyone says, I found Specialist easier than Methods.

I agree Hancock, I felt the same actually. I think for me it was because spec was more 'applied' and methods was a bit more 'theoretical'. And therefore it was easier to relate to real life and hence remember stuff and understand it :)

Thanks guys! I find methods and spech to be of relatively similar difficulty, so I was just wondering how common this characteristic actually is :D thanks guys! awesome scores

I think I would've gotten higher spesh than in methods if it wasn't for my horrible exam 1 performance (mostly stupid mistakes). I don't think its so much spesh being easier than methods because the content in spesh is definitely more complex and takes a longer time to grasp, where as methods is very intuitive. I think what makes spesh easier to score higher in for some people is the straight-forwardness of the exams. In methods, the examiners try really hard to separate people by throwing in those "wtf" questions while the content in spesh can separate people on its own.

I did them in different years and ended up with the same raw score, but like what others were saying, I found Spesh a little easier both workload and content-wise.
VCE 2011: Methods [44], Hebrew [36]
VCE 2012: English [45], Chemistry [47], Specialist Mathematics [44]
ATAR: 99.75

I did Further in year 11, when I had no idea how to study, and deeply learn things. In year 12 things clicked and I learnt how to learn :)
