I love this!

Lol at the top comment "And only less than 1% of the people who view this, will take the advice and actually implement it". Sadly very accurate.

Yeah it's the sad truth. That's why only a few individuals get remembered in history.

The guy in the video came to my school a couple of years back and told us about the whole underwater thing with the old man.

Guess I was pretty lucky to see him in person  :P

He's doing the voice over for the NBA commercial.

Meh. I'd have my sleep and food over money or almost any 'success' anytime.

Stay up three days in a row? Forget to eat? No thanks.

This is very true. The one thing that I think has made me able to make AN a success is my and David's ability to make our days last longer very regularly. If I want to, I can stay up for 24 hours and be alert for them. Provided that I get a full 8 hours after this, I can do it.

David regularly gets little sleep while making all of these awesome things for you guys. It is undoubtable that if you want to do something badly, you need to make it your focus.

So I can go 24-30 hours up, 8 hours sleeping. It makes up for the fact that my attention span can be lacking (I blame growing up on the internet :P). I find more hours in the day to get stuff done in less concentrated bursts.

But forgetting to eat is just stupid. :P

I don't think the message here is to do it consistently. More rather if you have to get an assignment in on time and do rather well in it then you're going to have to sacrifice a little and that will most likely be sleep. But in regards to food, I think what he's saying is that you have to be so absorbed in your work - in wanting to do well and putting your efforts into it that you forget to eat, rather than intentionally neglect eating.
I find this is particularly true in uni, you will have multiple assignments all due at once and they will take a lot of your time. To do your research then write up a plan, write the damn thing then review it. While you may have 4 assignments all at once and due within the next 2 weeks you'll also have classes and preparation work that will need to be done for them. This is when you will need to compromise some sleep to get the work done. Because if you don't then you will simply fall behind. Although, this does depend on your particular circumstances. For me for example I have to be conscious of how I'm using my time because I don't have as much free time as others may have i.e. students who live on campus or inner city suburbs.
I think there is a lot of truth in what he says here, but you have to see the underlying message not how he illustrates it - since he's going to exaggerate a little bit to give you the motivation!

I have stayed up three days in a row, but in order to do that I ate a lot of tuna and porridge. I've ignored food for Hamlet before... does that count as forgetting?

Edit; this is the first video in the list of motivational resources in my sig lol. It also crops up on the forums I reckon at least once every four months.
