With Term 1 about to come to a close, I thought it might be a good idea to create this thread so we can compare and reference how our cohorts are travelling. It might be useful to detect whether we're ahead or behind, relative to everyone else.

We've just started Spectroscopy (Chapter 7 of the Heinemann textbook). We've just completed our Extended Experimental Investigation covering Chapter 1-5 this week.

We've finished all of the volumetric and gravimetric analysis stuff and chromatography. The teachers started teaching spectroscopy but then they found out that the spectroscopes we have didn't work so we had to skip to organic chemistry.

We've completed Chapters 1,2,3,4,5,6,9 of Heinemann. And now we've moved onto Chapter 7, Spectrocopy. We've also just finished our EEI on Chapter 1-5  :)

Finished chapters 1-6 in the Heinemann textbook, up to Spectroscopy now.

Had a SAC on gravimetric analysis, titrations, etc a week ago, I did fucking shit

We have covered chapters 1-7 of the Heinemann book. Our first SAC is composed of 2 tests, which cover 1-3 and 4-5, and 3 pracs (Gravimetric analysis with precipitation, an acid-base titration and a redox titration), and it was finished last thursday.

Using Heinemann, we've done chapters 1-6, then 9-10. We completely skipped analytical and moved on to organics :/

I think it's because you need to have a knowledge of organic for some of spectroscopy i.e NMR and IR Spec.

Yeah, my school did AOS1 except IR and NMR and MS and did AOS2, and then did IR, NMR and MS. My notes do the same thing.

We've gone backwards: organic chem etc., then chromatography, just covered spectroscopy, about to finish it (only IR left :))

We've done chapters 1-7 of the Heinemann book as well, although I understand none of it because my teacher keeps randomly demonstrating unrelated things...
