I guess a good start is identifying that they both aid the business in terms of "productivity" and "efficiency". Planning is more or less a way to set aims and goals, and organising is what helps in achieving them. So you Plan what you want to create (product xyz) and how you want to create it. You'd find out things like the resources you have, team members, resources, money etc.. So it's kind of like raw data maybe?

Then you organise how you're going to execute it, who does what, where the money goes etc.. So in other words, you're planning on the execution of the making of the product.

The two interrelate a lot! Hope this didn't confuse you and helped you out a little :)
