Oh don't get me wrong guys, I wouldn't do anything differently. I'm still marvelling over my score. I was expecting 37-39

I know that feel bro. I was expecting less than 20 for Methods, so I lost it when I got that 31  ;D

Alon; ofc you could have :p. I look at my exam score sometimes and wish I ranked higher and isn't screw the exam - my school would've had two!
omg, same. If I actually would've started doing something for english before we got our last SAC back I would've easily be rank 1 and hence get somewhere around 45+. But well it is actually kinda good. My mate who was ranked 1st got my exam mark as his SAC marks and hence got a nice study score without which he wouldn't have gotten into UoM Commerce. So yeah kinda good that I started later I guess :p

Being someone who is good with words, I've always put a lot of work into English, whether it be now in year 11 or in junior English. But doing literature as well makes me a little calmer because I know I have a backup English subject if I should stuff one up.

Oh and literature is the best anyway!

Just to add something additional....

Is it common for a school to make all students do core English? Because that's what my school does, so if we want to take literature (or language next year because we are offering it) we have to take it in addition to core English. Is this unfair or a good idea to make us take core?

My school does that in Year 11, but in Year 12 you can just study Literature if you want. :)

That's not the case at my school, but I still think it's a good idea. All of my friends who did Lit last year are also doing English.  ;D

My school only offers English. LOL. I think it's a great idea. If I were running a school's VCE and they offered Lit, I would enforce that rule.

I didn't put as much effort into English as my other subjects but it was something i was pretty confident in. The only things i did was write a lot of essays because i normally finished other work for English in class. I would spend a whole night on writing essay before a SAC came up. I did not neglect it and I'm happy with the effort i put in.

My attention to English goes up and down in waves. At the moment, I'm on a high with my study. :P

Now I'm on a down with my English. :P
