I wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was
To catch them is my real test
To train them is my cause

I will travel across the land
Searching far and wide
Each Pokemon to understand
The power that's inside

Pokemon, its you and me
I know it?s my destiny
Pokemon, oh, you're my best friend
In a world we must defend
[ From: http://www.elyrics.net ]
Pokemon, a heart so true
Our courage will pull us through

You teach me and I'll teach you
Pokemon, gotta catch 'em all

Every challenge along the way
With courage I will face
I will battle every day
To claim my rightful place

Come with me, the time is right
There's no better team
Arm in arm we'll win the fight
It's always been our dream

Bragging rights, self achievement, University, the illusion that year 12 measures your success(lol), trying to aim for the highest Atar in my family, boosting the strength of my schools cohort, a simple goal, girls (I'm sure girls would appreciate a high ATAR compared to a 40).... the list goes on.

I think most of my motivation comes from myself. I seem to stress about my grades even though there isn't a huge amount of pressure coming from my parents, teachers or friends.

To get the fuck out of this suburb.

Edit: OK that's not entirely true... In VCE my motivation was:
a) getting the scores to be a teacher
b) getting scores high enough so that when I was a teacher I could have some cred with my kids
c) proving everyone wrong and figuratively punching them in the face
d) proving to myself that  I wasn't academically retarded
e) not being a failure
-> The times I wanted to give up, I couldn't, because I had told everyone that I was going to get a 90 so I would've been super ashamed to give up or not do it, so that was a motivator as well.

My motivation is being able to look back at my past and be happy with the effort which I have put in... also something which I could proudly tell other people about without being embarrassed about. But in the end it probably comes back to living an easier lifestyle but in a profession which I enjoy :)

* University lifestyle
* Achieving a career in I.T, not just for money, it's my only interest really
* The thought of being able to take out a home loan
