Can you get fares allowance if you are living on-campus?

hey guys,
im planning going on campus to study.
atm im studying off-campus.

my question is can u get centrelink fares allowance if you plan on living on-campus?
would it be worth applying for if you are planning on doing some subjects cross-institutionally via another uni?

now its saturday so cant call centrelink now but want to know what u guys think first...

I don't think you understand how the fares allowance works. It's not for your everyday travel. It's paid once at the start of the year when you move out of home to your accommodation, then again for the expense of travelling back home at the end of the year. They will also pay for one round trip home during the year, which most students use to travel home during their winter break between semesters. The fares allowance is generally used by students who must travel interstate or from very rural areas to undertake their studies.
