Just a general inquiry into a bachelor of radiography. Has anyone done it? Is anyone doing it? Does anyone have any friends doing it? If so, what feedback could you give? Is it interesting/difficult? Thanks a lot :)

I knew someone doing it - they said that they hated the amount of physics involved

I have a friend doing it and I also know a radiographer who just graduated.  Like what abeybaby said, the course involves quite a large amount of physics (like how x-ray works).

My twin brother is studying radiography. Contact hours can be quite lengthy with labs/lectures etc. At Monash, if you study radiography, your timetable is pretty much set for you. You would sit your exams earlier than other courses/faculties because you go on placement to hospitals or clinics in semester one and two from first-year. The cohort for radiography at Monash isn't too big, so making friends comes easy. Would also agree about the amount of physics, it's a lot.

Hey, well first of all, Radiology itself is actually the person who analyses the x-ray, and has therefore studied Med. A radiographer is someone who physically takes the x-rays, CT scans, MRI etc.

Personal preference of radiography as you would carry less burden, and I did work experience at a private practice, it was awesome :p

Just saw this reply! From what he's told me, yeh. The first couple of weeks were transitional/adjusting, but that's really a given when you start any degree. The biggest benefit he's told me was going on placement (all organised by the university), and actually seeing what it's like - because going to lectures and/or reading the textbook is vastly different from what it is like when you're actually applying what you've learnt. Good luck!
