I'd like to make one key distinction btw. When they mark it, its basically x2 of whatever you original score was when they marked it.
That said, according to my statement of marks to see what silly errors I'd made, lost 2 marks in exam 1 and 10 marks in exam 2.
This is the same as saying, lost 6 marks overall which resulted in my 48 for methods - I got the easy questions wrong ahahaha
General rule of thumb for any subject is that only 2% get 45+ raw. So if we look at the grade distribution of methods (2011 since i cant seem to find 2012):
http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/statistics/section2/vce_math_methods_cas_ga11.pdfThey don't give the mark range for top 2%, but you can see that you can't afford to lose too many marks. Reminder, in that grade distribution, the score range is 'double' eg A
+ 132-160 is actually 66-80 in the exam 2 since they double mark hence double the score
I would just worry about doing well in sacs at the moment if I were you, and concentrate on exams a bit later
