I need to write a practice article and im not sure about the tone so can somebody read the article and figure out the tone becasue its doing in my head thankyou
No piece ever only adopts one tone, so avoid classifying the author's tone with one word or treating the entire article as though it conveys only one. Think of the word tone as meaning "feeling towards..." - which means every person or issue relevant to the piece will have a different tone adopted towards it. You can categorise them all as either broadly positive or broadly negative in your head, though, which streamlines things

In terms of THIS piece, however, there's an excellent reason you are having trouble finding the tone: it's a *news* piece, and is thus not supposed to convey *any* personal opinion. News reports are supposed to be the facts laid bare, and are not supposed to manipulate the audience's feelings or responses towards any of the stakeholders. There is no contention, because this piece isn't an argument. It's the wrong piece for this task.
Try clicking on the link to the related editorial and doing that one instead. I suspect you'll find it easier!
