I went to the psychology one last year and I didn't find it that helpful. I would have preferred to use that time studying solo. I think I was annoyed because the majority of people took it to be a social occasion with their friends, and spent more time discussing what type of coffee they were going to buy from the booth than paying attention to the lecturers.

The notes they gave at the lecture were pretty good though. I think these notes are good for cementing the basics and pinpointing the types of questions likely to come up in the exam.

9 hours is a really long time. I found myself zoning out after lunch, so I practically wasted those 3 hours.

Conversely, my friend also went with me and she found it really helpful. So I guess it depends on the person.  :)

Looking back on this post, I realised it's a bit topsy-turvy, but hopefully you can extract some useful information from what I've written.  :P

edit: I went to the TSFX lecture.

I went to one last year in my final year of vce for Specialist Maths and Maths Methods.
They give a nice overview on the content that is going to be taught but doesn't go into the details. As they try to go everything it is also mentally draining sitting there for 9 hours (although you do get a few breaks) and you might do what I did and fall asleep.

in terms of lectures i went to the TSFX headstart ones and during the year went to the connect education ones.
The headstart programs are ok but can be quite long. Just remember there will be parts that you would just sit there and be like WTF is going on but just realise you havent done these topics yet and when you do come to them thats when the real value of these lectures take place. That will be your second time hearing the infor compared to others first. Also TSFX is a bit pricey compared to connect, and I would highly recommend connect education, their lectures and notes were brilliant.
