But, in terms of the benefits of working at the job, I guess I've become a tougher person. I realise that you haven't worked at retail if you haven't been screamed at.
On the weekend, I had this girl yell at me for not giving her food after only 5 minutes. It wasn't even my fault. URGH! And the ridiculously high standards of Maccas is just so unrealistic. As if we can wash our hands every hour or freaking change the timers every fucking time we replace something. And it's not fast food because of service, it's "fast food" because it makes you fat quickly. GAH!!

working at KFC here. We are suppose to hand out our meals within 2 mins ahaha. I try to do that but its always the person on burgers that's really slow. Peak we make around 180 sales per hour. its hectic there. But I did learn a lot from working.

I have three part time jobs. I tutor physics/math through the university, I do research and I work as a peer liaison (so basically get paid to make friends and eat dinner). I'm really fortunate, because these are jobs that I enjoy doing. The pay rates aren't great compared to Australia, and it took me a really long time to get these jobs, but I'm glad that I did.

Footy umpiring is great pay tho, i think it's just netball ahhah. My friend who does footy empiring get paid like 40 bucks for an hour and half ~ 2 hours. But he gets like 1 game, 2 games a week as well.

Fair point, but netballs $8 to footballs $40/$60 is still unfair though... Anyway... Better than earning nothing at all I suppose!

Hmm. I think it'll be good practise too since I want to work in an office. By the way, how did you get into the job?

I went there to see a physio and was talking to the receptionist and she said that they were looking to hire a casual. A week later I sent off an email asking if they had found someone and that I was interested etc. So I was quite lucky to have heard about it because they only advertised for osteo students (which I'm not). So luck basically. I kind of feel as if I'm stealing their job :P
