Good Luck for the GAT!

Good luck to everyone for the GAT tomorrow! :)

I know that around here, the GAT always seems to be laughed about quite frequently, but please keep in mind that if the unexpected were to happen come exam time in November, the test you'll be doing tomorrow WILL play a major role in determining what final score you will recieve.

The GAT is compulsory so you will be sitting in there for 3 hours whether you like it or not, so why not give it your best shot?! You have nothing to lose and possibly a lot to gain from it if you take it seriously, so why not take the opportunity?

Take the GAT seriously but don't stress over it!

Once again, Good Luck and Have Fun! :)

In all seriousness. I actually did do a few multiple choice questions to get an idea of what to expect, but that's all.

Is anyone else planning on doing the multiple choice first and then writing pieces? Unlike what VCAA suggest. I feel like 30 mins for each piece is to short so will do MC as quick as I can.  And then divide remaining time between writing pieces.

Nah, I'm going to complete the writing sections first. 30 minutes is only the recommended time. If you think it's too short, then you can spend more time on your essays.  In my opinion, I think that 30 minutes is a reasonable amount of time.

Apparently those who achieve high results for their GATs usually complete a MINIMUM of 10-15 practice GAT exams....so, you're almost there.

Yeah same as this just seems like it will work best. :)

So there's a good 18 hours till the GAT which takes 3 hours to do so if I can squeeze in 6 practices I'll be good yeah?

I did that last year. The upside is that I aced the multi-choice. The downside is that by the time I got to the writing tasks, I was feeling ceebs about it all and wrote a couple of bullshit pieces. My writing score was not that high. :P

You guys have it easy, my school forced everyone to stay back to do a full past years GAT in exam conditions, THEN MADE US TAKE IT HOME AND MARK IT OURSELVES, and no classes today, we had to listen to teacher lectures on how to correctly interpret the questions and answer them, "GAT Preparation Day"
My school will dominate

PS we're all only year 11's LOL
