In all simplicity, all you really need to do is extend your vocabulary by reading books, writing practise works and rewriting them.

So, before the exam begins in October i want to improve my English dramatically. So far this year, i have been practicing writing essays reading good essay etc. But i seem to not be improving, so i have English tutor, who says" it comes with practice", which tend to do everyday. Any suggestion, where i can dramatically before the exam starts?

After you write your essays get it marked by your teacher or even your peers. Ask them for feedback it doesnt matter if its positive or negative but negative is better. Then the next essay you write incorporate the feedback in your writing. Theres no point in writing the same essay over and over again as you will get the same result, change is required on your behalf. I was in the same boat as my average last year for English was a d but by using the above method my average for yr 12 is a B so its no impossible but it does require had work on your behalf. So good luck for the rest of year 12  ;D

pin point your weaknesses. What are you doing wrong? How can you get better? Ask your tutor how you can improve. No point blindlessly writing essays if you keep making the same mistakes. (Might need to find yourself a new tutor)

Read good essays, and look at the techniques they use and try to emulate them
KNOW YOUR TEXT INSIDE AND OUT.

Keep vocab book, and add couple words daily. (make sure you know exactly what it means and the correct context to use it in)
IF you have time read novels, classics are recommended (George Orwell is my favourite) It really strengthens vocab/ expression

Read newspaper (age/ herald sun) (opinion/ comment) section daily. (Good for language analysis)

At this point, given that you have a tutor, you should be expecting at the very least an improvement of a few marks. Since you have indicated that this has not happened, I would advise that you start writing timed practice essays as often as you can. By timing yourself under exam conditions, you will restrict yourself to using and training the most important tool in an English SAC - your mind!

The problem I notice with most students is that they rely heavily on external resources - thesaurus, teacher, tutor - and then fail to put that knowledge into practise. Studying is a very important aspect of good writing, however an examiner never gets to see your preparation. What they see is the final essay. By repetitively writing practise essays, you will notice that the background knowledge you have gained  through your tutor will flow freely from your mind to the page. The more you repeat something, the easier it becomes.

So, as cliched as it may sound, practise essays under exam conditions are the best way to study. Good writing is a gradual process and requires a willingness to learn (study guides, reading through texts, highlighting phrases), and apply (Essay writing). :)
