In these type of questions, is it always reasonable to assume that no-one can admit they're a liar? I think medentry assumes this everytime, but I was concerned whether we can also do this in the actual exam...

Yeah, I think you'd have to assume that as a general rule if they're always a liar.

From what I can recall of UMAT 2012 though, there weren't many (if any) of these questions. (correct me if I'm wrong guys?)

You'll find that ACER's UMAT will be a bit less ambiguous in what they ask.

If you think about it, if I'm a liar, I'll say that I tell the truth, because fundamentally everything I say is a lie. If I say I'm a liar, then I'm telling the truth and makes it a total mess.

So it's pretty safe to assume it every time, because otherwise it'll be a total contradiction of the question :)

Oh I meant to ask whether the people who can either lie or tell the truth are allowed to admit they're liars, because Medentry uses the logic that EVERYONE (liars, truth teller or people who can lie and tell the truth) will always call themselves a truth-teller

Ohh right sorry. From memory, the actual UMAT didn't have questions like that... but again, that's from memory. I think they were a lot more straightforward, and people were either liars or truth-tellers :)

Was the 2012 UMAT exam similar to the practice exams on medentry, or was it easier/harder? I realise that opinion will vary among persons, but any responses would be appreciated.  :)

Yes that's what I heard too. I suppose this is a good thing? We get a few 'free' marks at least.

But in terms of difficulty level - are the medentry practice exams easier or harder or a good indicator of the UMAT over the last few years?

The reason I'm asking is because the ACER practice test 1 wasn't that tricky and I'm assuming that these practice tests are an indicator of the UMAT. ACER practice test 1 was not as hard as the medentry practice exams, in my opinion, so I'm also wondering whether the practice tests were a trap intended to lure students into a pretence of security?

Yeah i find the same with those practice ones. But given that some questions have been repeated, according to whats been going around, it may be the same difficulty but maybe less. A lot of people have dissimilar opinions, some say the real is harder and some say its easier. So I suppose it depends on how one feels on the day.

I know i havent sat the umat yet, so you probably wont feel as if ive answered your q.

If you look through the UMAT forums users have given more in depth responses to this after they sat the UMAT.
eg.
Medentry is harder for section 3, about on par for section 1 (might be a bit harder sometimes) and way off the mark for section 2 imo.

^ true - I should have searched the forums before I made that post. Sorry for any inconveniences.  :)

When you say way off the mark, what do you mean exactly? I think ive asked you this before lol, but would you say that the real section 2 is similar to the acer practice tests?

Similar to the ACER ones (obviously as they write the UMAT), but not Medentry imo.
