First up,

 - LNP government                                  ☑
 - Improved asylum seeker policy             ☐
 - Conscience vote on marriage equality   ☐
 - Malcolm Turnbull/Julie Bishop as PM     ☐

Do you think it would be a safe assumption that that most of the younger demographic ( ie: digital natives) voted Labor/ Greens? I'd be interested to see any stats. I mean my newsfeed is just...flooded with anti- Abbott sentiment. I only know a few Liberal/Coalition voters.

Well, there is me :P

In my immediate community, there is quite a strong support basis for the LNP amongst young people.

I'm loving social media.  Someone just said "the NDIS is nowhere near as fast as the NBN".  It's evident that ALP policy was close to her heart, and that's why she's posting all over Facebook about how much she wished they'd won instead.

I have a bit of both. When we were talking at uni the other day, out of the 7 or so of us everyone bar 2 were libs, I was copping it for being labor, and we had one green. Otherwise from what I'm seeing it's mostly split. Currently my fb newsfeed is turning into fights between libs and labor supporters, with people taking shots at others. Shots that will dig deep and won't end well. Some people's true colours are coming out.

Yes. Took extreme pleasure in voting the Coalition, One Nation, Family First and affiliated candidates in the 90s.

Hoping to wake to find out that some semblance of a balance of power exists outside of conservative clutches tomorrow morning. Also would very much like to see Sophie Mirabella lose her seat.

I'm confused, is this actually a list of things you think are going to happen or is it satire?

You are the reason for Australian Motor Enthusiasts candidate being in.

Only joking!  I voted below the line too, I put anything with the words 'drug', 'Christian', 'Wiki' and 'rise' last.  My brother tried to vote below the line and said he skipped two boxes and only realised when he got to 95 and couldn't list 96 or 97...so he just gave up and sent in an informal vote...

Russ I think it's a list of things that have happened as in checked boxes and a list of things alondouek wants to happen but won't happen...because they are unchecked?  That's how I interpreted it, could be wrong.

They're things that I hope happen, but apparently political optimism isn't too welcome for some reason.

Believe it or not, not every LNP voter is a rabid homophobic racist /shock/ (despite what some opposition parties may posit)

Nooo... tell him there's provision for up to 3 numbering mistakes. He'll know for next time at least.

Still outnumbered by ALP + Greens... I'll take it :(

Before I tried to edit my post and say (but it clearly didn't work) in response to the comment on young voters for ALP/Greens that I am one of the only people I know that would openly admit to voting liberal.  I have some friends who also vote liberal but they tend to keep their views quiet and not voice them because of the sour attitude received from many Greens/Labor supports (obviously not all).  It would certainly be nice to support a political endeavour and not be judged as a person for that decision.  I certainly don't judge anyone who votes differently to me, I support their choices because they're entitled to them.  I definitely don't treat them like idiots or terrible people just because they disagree with me.

Unless they think the NDIS is a broadband policy then I might be inclined to think they are an idiot.

In other news, I'm kind of impressed by the balance of power in the Senate for Vic at least - 2 Libs, 2 Labor, 2 Other (even though one of the 'others' is a bit of a shock).  That's the way I like it!  Indecision!  I'm not even joking tho.

Debates are fine but I agree, it does bug me when people aren't respectful of other people's voting preferences.
