the melbourne uni people werent as helpful/informative as their monash counterparts. plenty of times id ask questions and theyd just look at the booklet and if you ask something not on the booklet they dont answer the question! they mainly just helped with basic stuff you could find on the site, they didnt tell me what type of topics you do in third year mathematical physics apart from the subject names which they got out of the booklet. but the law school looks awesome
and the commerce people were more helpful than the other faculties

Sometimes I wish I was taking commerce or law subjects just so I could have a reason to be in their fantastic buildings :(

Was a pretty good experience at UoM. Got good info on the sciences at UoM though info for Kwong Lee Dow was a bit sketchy ._.
Buildings look pretty nice and freebies were better than Monash imo (E.g Cans of Red Bull, beach ball, toothpaste etc.)

You can find the information you'd like about mathematical physics here: https://handbook.unimelb.edu.au/view/2013/!R01-AA-MAJ%2B1020 .

To be fair to the people who spoke to you, if they carried all the information they needed to answer those questions, their arms would have dropped in five minutes. There are a hell of a lot of subjects and a hell of a lot of different areas and unfortunately, unless you speak to a mathematical physicist, they're probably not going to be able to answer those specifics. Just a bit of luck sometimes :)

Probably. Serious props to you if you understand what they're talking about anything third year hahah. I love the descriptions in the maths subjects, they make everything seem really basic. Little do we know...
