What is general mathematics ?

Hi,

I am in Year 11 doing General Maths this year (only maths i'm doing). It sounds weird but I have just realised that it is general maths, I have always thought it was further. I've only dropped about 4 marks this year, which were all in once sac. I'm thinking about taking up methods next year and my teachers are saying that a lot of people do general maths first then take up methods.

So, is general maths basically a lead up to all maths or what ? Am I at a large disadvantage taking up methods next year only doing general ?

Thanks :)

General maths naturally leads to further in year 12.

General maths advanced (GMA) is what leads to methods I believe.

If you're talking about the non-advanced GM, then you would be at a disadvantage picking up Methods next year if you didn't cover it over the holidays.
