Hi there,
I have been given the prompt, "It is sometimes difficult to now what other people are really like beneath their masks", in reference to 'The Catcher in the Rye".
I'm really stuck for ideas for what form to write this is.
I'm thinking that I should maybe extend the story to Holden's death, where as a reader you listen to his funeral scripts, talking about- how behind his "mask", he wasn't really a troubled character, but it was as a result of these masks, that caused him to have issues with his identity and belonging. It was difficult too know what exactly Holden's motives for his actions and thoughs were- but if you managed to "dig deep" behind his masks, it would have been more clear.
What are your opinions on this?
Or am I lucky enough to have people with better ideas?
