At the moment my bound reference consists of roughly 200 pages of loose leaf notes.

I know officeworks has a thermal binding service, so could i just go in there and get them to bind all the pages together and then use that as a bound ref?

Yup! So long as you don't have tabs and stuff sticking out :P
If you don't know the answer to a question, chances are it has something to do with changing the surface area to volume ratio or resonance.

Absolutely - That's completely fine. Just make sure that all sheets are A4, and nothing bigger than A4 size. :)

No worries.

Depending on your school, you may be able to get it done a bit cheaper. At my school library, it just costs me $1 (for the binder itself) to get anything bound. May be ask your school office or library?

I wonder how much use such a thick manual will be in the exam. I don't think you will have time to access it efficiently. You might benefit from you recreating (not copying) a shorter version of it as part of the preparation week before the exam?

Well if he knows exactly what's where, then I guess it shouldn't be a problem. If he doesn't know, then it could be a problem. =/

Hang on a sec, can we take our textbooks? We have the essentials one, but it's slightly wider than A4

Essentials Textbook - The green one?

The Essentials book is smaller than an A4 sheet of paper.

While we are on this topic...

So VCAA says "reference must be in book format of A4 size or smaller when closed. "

So I already have most of my pages like 1cm smaller than A4 in width (due to removing them from a binder book), but just want to make sure: would I be able to attach an A5 sized booklet onto the front of my bound reference (it's more aesthetically pleasing =p)? So technically I'd be able to have heaps of smaller pages as long as it's smaller than A4?

Hmm....that creates a conflict of the rules then. Ummmm.......best to check with your teacher, or even better, your VCE Coordinator.

Yeah, I guess so. As long as each and every sheet of paper is nothing larger than an A4 size. :)
