I wrote Qualitative, but my teacher said Quantitative so you are correct. :)

I don't think it was related to the case study, even though it was mentioned in the information.

It had more to do with your knowledge of the devices in general. :)

definitley quant. since those things measure in numerical data. qualitive think quality, thats self reports, subjective data. you're right

I didn't really study them in detail. =/ I thought they produced waves, so that's why I thought qualitative. :P

Same here, well that's one mark down the drain. Never to be seen again.

It's quantitative because for for example an EEG brainwaves are called like 5-7 hertz etc so it is numerical :)

It would be quantitative because you can 'quantify' or measure the data, for example, frequency of brain waves is specifically in 'per unit of time'.

But then the Sleep Waves are Qualitative Data, aren't they? ???

Do you mean 'sleep waves' as in 'brain waves' or the waves of muscles controlling the eyes and muscles?? You can measure the peaks and troughs of each wave by calculating the size of the amplitude and frequency.

Sleep Waves like Beta, Alpha, Theta and Delta Waves.

True. Hmmm...Oh well. What's done is done. :P

I can totally understand why the answer would be quantitative, but is it crazy to think that both answers will be accepted? I mean, in psychology, you don't ever talk about beta waves being "x hertz per second" or being "y units high", you just talk about beta waves being "high" or "low", or even more generally, the presence of beta, alpha, theta or delta waves, and aren't all of these things qualities?

Just looking for some other Psych students' opinions  :)
