I was just joking..you're expected to express your answer in the simplest form. Otherwise you may lose some marks

Well you are supposed to simplify it as much as you can, but you are allowed to leave it factorised and not expanded. Some people get confused by that. :P

dammmm really so it's like 27/12 and forget to simplfy it i woul lose marks

I left it like that too, not realising that simplifying the fraction action allowed me to squareroot it. My teachers seemed pretty sure I wouldn't lose marks for stuff like this.
