I found that oddly hilarious. Like they're the fun police (which they kinda are)
No Beeping, Whizzing, Whistling or Whoosling of any kind is permitted in the examination room.
On Topic : A guide of what to write on the front of your VCAA paper. I walked into the exam room this morning and had to ask one of the co-coordinators.
Rules against beeping etc. are just there to ensure everyone sitting the exam despite in many different locations has a similar experience in the exam room to ensure it can be done as fairly as possible.
It's definitely confusing if you don't know what to write. Last year I don't even think I did it properly.
I'll write a brief guide: Here is an example exam cover
http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/exams/2013%20Nov%20exam%20covers/2013biol-cov-mc.pdfLet us use the example student number: 1 2 3 4 5 6 W
Your student number is given to you on a card in the corner of your desk in the exam room and is also on a sticker on the booklet your answers go in.
When the supervisor advises you to do so you must first right out your student number in the provided space (titled figures) in numbers and the letter i.e. 1 2 3 4 5 6 W
Than below that you need to write out the numbers in letters in the provided space (titled words). i.e. in the case of this example write:
one two three four five six (You don't have to write out the letter)
Also If you have a multiple choice answer sheet (or any other response material you hand in for assessment) you must also sign it with your signature in the provided area.
*Make sure your student number recorded on the MC answer sheet is the same as the one on your exam paper/provided card.*
Edit: Damoz. beat me to it

I still like my guide

Edit2: Once writing time ends are you allowed to talk while the papers are being collected? i.e. can the supervisor ask you "how the exam was" etc. as they collect the paper.
Mod Edit: Yall need to learn to use dat der "Modify" button, kthxbai - Phy124
