Am i alone in stupidly thinking that implicit diff would cancel out the c and solving in terms of x for y,then diffing it?  I think im retarded because of that lost 4 marks cos answer was (9/4e^2 ) something. Fkkkk ~~35/40

top right branch of hyperbola: must
[/quote]
it was the top left branch as well
range: 4 sec(x) over x:[0,pi/2) is neg infinty to neg four and then 4 to infinity
hence both strands

Sorry.. range of 4secx is 4 to infinity only!  :-\

It's because the range of cos(x) from 0 to pi/2 is (0,1]
There's no negative that can come in there.

Don't worry - lots of people will have tripped on this one!

So I got the value of c wrong...

I differentiated it correctly,

with my equation being - ((3-9) over 2y) equal 2

But i mistakenly found y to be 3 (it should be 3 over 2)

Then obviously I got wrong value of C

How many marks do you think I will lose?

Thanks

Fuuucked up q4c, got 8/root(15) because apparently 1-2(1/4)=1/4...
so lost 1 mark for that (differentiated right too goddamnit)
also the last question, I integrated 1/2 cos(2x) to sin(2x) instead of 1/4 sin(2x) so there goes a method mark and the answer mark. Hopefully somehow 37/40 is still an A+, even though it was quite an easy paper.

EDIT: so turns out 4a asked for the domain AND range, swear to god, there goes my possible A+

With 36/40 and rank 1 sacs, is a 45 still possible? What mark on exam 2? (generally my better exam) Im assuming close to 80/80 is needed?

About a 77/80, if last year is anything to go by. Totally depends on the difficulty of the exam though.

A+ maybe 37.5 or 38?

A 35.5-38?

I'm not sure.  I definitely wasn't as easy as 2011 (you could make so many careless errors) while I think it was quite easier than 2012 (A+ cut off 35)

Somewhere there I'd say?
