Yeah the thing is my parents went to Melbourne so they want to follow tradition or something.. I want to do med eventually though, but I don't mind which pathway! Biomed might give me time to focus on languages too :) (not sure what possibility mbbs has for languages on the side). But yeah Mbbs is pref 1 atm, i guess mainly because it's guaranteed so I don't have to try luck at gamsat which looks crazy hard.

If Medicine is your ultimate goal then it would be very silly to get sidetracked for three years when you could jump straight into it.

Take it from someone who's done that :P  I wanted Law at Monash or Melbourne and got the ATAR for every undergrad law school except Monash. I chose Arts @ Melbourne with the aim of going on to postgrad law at Melbourne or Monash. I hated it, got crappy grades, and the worst thing is it feels like three more years of VCE, where you're trying to prove yourself again for a course you could already be doing.
2009-2010; VCE, 96.70.
2011-2012; BA @ Melbourne Uni.
2014-2016; Law @ Deakin.

On the bright side of flogging the umat, I am keen on the shorter travel times and the opportunity to do more maths and physics lol
I guess there's pros and cons of both pathways, but like others are saying, undergrad is too good of an opportunity to give up for the above reasons :)

Ahh yeah thanks guys- that definitely makes sense  :) I guess an extra two years would make the journey even longer than it needs to be!

On another note, I've got back to back residential college interviews coming up- and I got a quick question-would a smart shirt and jeans be ok? My mum said it should be fine as residential interviews are meant to be a casual chat, but I'm still anxious.. And anything quirky to be prepared for for Monash and Melbourne residential?

Id make a new topic for this but I want this thread to keep alive now exams are over ;)

Yeah, that clothes is fine. You don't need to wear anything particularly special. Just be confident and honest and it'll go well. Good luck!

Agreed with Alter! Not residential interviews but for my upcoming scholarship interviews, they just said smart casual so just a smart shirt and non-daggy jeans should do the trick!
Good luck Splash-Tackle-Flail (tell us how you go in the end)! :)

I've got Monash Access Ambassador Interviews tomorrow at Caulfield (good luck to anybody else doing it tomorrow too) and I've got another one for a cadetship early December! I think that's the only ones that I know that have interviews since I didn't apply for these through VTAC!

Though I did get rejected from cadetships interstate which sucks (they ask for your grades in HSC without the option to submit VCE grades  :-\)

Thanks guys! On that note, I think I found my answer to the common "what's your weakness" questions... I got off the train at southern cross station, and hopped on a train thinking it was headed to Balwyn... And I've somehow ended up in a place called Thornburry, all because I caught the wrong tram number ugh; going to be a late night ahha

See, there's someone out there who's like me! *high fives over Internet*

By the way, what happened with those Architecture interview offers? Was anyone successful?
