I dread orals... I'd much rather write 2 essays than 1 oral. Anyway, does anyone know if you have to complete an oral for one of your SACs in year 12? I haven't read the study design yet..

Yeah you do, it's compulsory :)

But don't worry, it won't have too much of an effect on your overall English score!

I prefer orals too! I'm much prefer speaking to writing.  :)

It barely makes up any of SAC mark Adequace, let alone your final score. Don't worry too much about it!

On a side note, two more days of school left WOOO.  :D  :D

nah I do that too lol, helps distract me from worrying about my results and outcomes, and can be relaxing if the homework is for a subject you enjoy (for me usually reading enlightening texts in humanities or working on maths problems/proofs).  :)

I think my school just allocates less time to each subject lol
most schools I know don't have any spares in year 11 and everyone does 6 subjects
even year 10's get spares now at my school (idk how that works because I didn't get any)
people who do VETs in year 11 get a ridiculous number of spares haha

but yay for getting them next year! :D

thaaanyan what 3/4 did u do and what are you hoping to get

yo; sorry for the late reply - super rude of me - but orientation has been kicking my butt in! :)
i did 3/4 literature this year. initially i was hoping to get a 40+ however i'm not 100% sure that's happening now for a multitude of reasons. I'm still holding out for a 40+, i still have a decentishy chance but it could fall into the high 30s at this point too.

what about you guys?? any specific score you guys are holding out on/praying for desperately?? the closer the date comes the more i become tens and agitated!! :(

but yay for getting them next year! :D

haha i feel this. all my friends have had frees since yr 10!! so excited for it!  ;D  ;D

have you guys started prepping for orals?? what topics are you doing??

I posted in this thread that I would probably be getting a 20 for Chinese and 24 for Methods. Why? Because like many others, I didn't find the Chinese exam too hard and plus I'm in a weak cohort.

As for Methods, I simply didn't finish either exams. I mean, I left quite a bit of blank spaces. I have no idea how I'm ranked, but most year 11's did better than me in SACs, so I assume near the end. I say 24 because I know I'm an unlucky person who will JUST miss out!

I just want a 25 for Methods. Chinese I really don't care but my school doesn't have a reputation for getting over 35 scores, so 20-25 is still 'normal'.

But my Asian parents EXPECT a 35 for both lol.

Haha most people at my school (including me) are only doing 4 subjects next year so we'll have like quite a lot of frees (like 8 or something).  :)
