I'm feeling pretty confident about this one. Nothing seemed out of the realm of possibility for me to answer. I'll probably lose marks on my explanation questions but all in all, I'm quite happy with today.

It was a nice, accessible paper which wasn't too difficult to complete under timed conditions. There were no questions asking to deduce a structural formula using proton NMR spectra, which was good for me. :D The only question I didn't know was the relationship between H3O+ and Ka. I just put down "they are proportional to each other" as a guess lol.

That's probably right, I didn't do any calculations, just wrote it on instinct.

Same! I did calculations for this one in my extra time and found that they were equivalent :)

I thought it would be a silly question to ask if Ka wasn't equal to [H3O+] so I said equals

btw that question about the excess reagent was terribly worded if they wanted us to give how much it was in excess rather than just how much there was

wow i should've put more time into chem.. i kind of dis regarded it a little bit thinking it would easily be my lowest, but dang if i actually committed to it, i could've ended up with a good score. That exam was WAY easier than i expected (and short)

Wait, so were we supposed to do how much there was or how much in excess? SHHHHHHHHHIT.

How much there was, I think.

Another poorly worded question was the one where we had to calculate the "heat given off" by the substance or whatever. I just thought it was a bit ambiguous because it could have been energy or temperature.
