Way easier than expected. A+ cut off will be well over 90%. I'm sure the silly mistakes will get me though.

wow i should've put more time into chem.. i kind of dis regarded it a little bit thinking it would easily be my lowest, but dang if i actually committed to it, i could've ended up with a good score. That exam was WAY easier than i expected (and short)

I feel the same way. In all my other subjects I was getting high 90s in sac marks, and between 55 and 80 percent on my chem sacs. Although I still ended up being rank 1, I slacked off a bit. I wish I had of put more effort into studying, I think I could have pulled out an A for the exam then.

Heat given off => energy :/ Heat is necessarily a reference to energy.

How much there was, I think.

Another poorly worded question was the one where we had to calculate the "heat given off" by the substance or whatever. I just thought it was a bit ambiguous because it could have been energy or temperature.

I did it as energy.

It was a two mark question, so that's what I did, but I'm sure some person probably just calculated the temperature change that was given. Poor them.

yeah I actually got startled by the 'heat' question but when you look at the marks you clearly need to do a calculation so it needed to be energy

also the MC which had methane as an option and crude oil, I struggled because I've never actually bothered to understand what 'crude' oil is and I was cautious about methane because it's not necessarily renewable based on how it's produced (I think) but I chose the one with methane, biodiesel and ethanol in the end

YES. So I just wrote a nice sentence which converted J to kJ to save time later and stated like 1.00g releases......... that was a little strange tbh. I know what they meant but energy released would've been much more relieving to see

Did anybody get 12.1 days for the time taken for the purity question?
Seemed kinda simple for a 5 mark question.

If they gave us a value of 24 amps, isn't that 2 sig figs; would 12 days be accepted!? I always check my last answer is sig fig correct just in case

I'd assume so with that knowledge, I'm about 99% sure that I lost a mark for sig figs earlier in the paper, so it really doesn't matter in my case!

I said 12 point something or rather days, I felt really awkward about it though. Decimals in units like days or hours make me uncomfortable.

It was a lot of people's last exam/second to last, so there might not be many people who stayed behind to ask for a copy.

Uncomfortable straightforward, few weird multiple choice questions aside. And this is coming from someone who hasn't been coping well with Chemistry l o l As my friend pointed out, questions were very much like textbook questions.

Worried about the A+ cut-off and all that now since silly mistakes in calculations and whatnot are guaranteed on my part :( As relieved as I was that I could answer everything, it definitely should had been harder.
