Sleeping/Wake up Time for Exams

I know this is personal preference, but would still like to see how people go about it:

So, when you have a morning exam the next day, what time do you usually get to bed and then wake up?

Personally, I go to bed around 11 and wake up and 6.

Comment below!! :)
The GOAL: Attain a RAW study score of 40+ in all my subjects.

Courses I would like to study in order of preference include: Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Biomedicine or Bachelor of Science.

2014: Biology [42]
2015: English Language [??] | Chemistry [??] | Physics [??] | Mathematical Methods (CAS) [??] | Specialist Mathematics [??]

As a uni student, it depends on what time of the day my exam is.

If it's a morning exam (9:30am), I'll aim to get up at 7am, but if it's an afternoon exam (2:30pm) I'll sleep until 12pm.

I always aim to get 8 hours sleep the days leading up to an exam, but seeing as I often do my best study between the hours of 12-4am, it's not always what actually happens haha

If it's a 9am exam: Go to bed at 12.30, wake up at 6am

If it's an afternoon exam: Go to bed at 2am, wake up 9am

Usually go to bed at 11:30-12:30 (depending on how tired I am/how much cramming I have to do) and depending on what time the exam is, will usually wake up at least 60-90 minutes before the exam (perks of living close to the university)

As much as I try to abide by the general consensus of getting a good amount of sleep the day before an exam, it never happens.

I try to get in bed by 12am. I usually don't fall asleep until an hour later. I noticed that I got up at 5:30am on these morning exam days in spite of sleeping late, because I couldn't sleep (sweating, tossing & turning).

So when I woke up, I went over my notes. Don't think the lack of sleep I had during the exam period greatly affected my performance though. After a moment of reflection, I gathered I would have performed the same even if I had a full 8 hours. I think the stress of doing the exam blocks out all tiredness.

So basically, expecting the same sleep deprived state for my German exam.  :P

I try and keep my routine as normal as possible. This includes not studying the night before/morning of an exam because I have never done that for a test or SAC or exam (well yet anyway)..

I'm usually in bed by 9:30-10:00 at the latest and up at about 7ish. Even if it is an afternoon exam I naturally wake up at around 7 anyway so I just get up.

For my VCE exams:
For my 9am exams, I intended on sleeping at 11pm but ended up sleeping at 4am or had 0 sleep for further exam 1.
For my 12pm exam, I went to sleep at 12am
For my 3pm exams, I went to bed at 5am and woke up at 1pm.

I like waking up as late as possible. More time = more speculation = more worries for me..

My goodness. Reading this thread makes me feel like a dinosaur.

I go to bed at 9:30pm (10pm at the latest) before every exam, no matter what time the exam is. I'm usually up by 7am.
