Scaling is good, very good in fact! ;)

I'm relying on scaling to get that H1.

2013   Semester 2   ECON10003   Introductory Macroeconomics   76   H2A   Second Class Hons A

lol im happy but nothing like the others in here though

An H2A is nothing to shrug off, 76 is still a great mark (I was stoked with a 79 for my thesis, even though just 1% more and it would have been added to the thesis archive).

At least you attempted it. I love mathematics but the 80% exam weighting puts me off bigtime so I probably would have done awful in a subject like Calc 2 as well. My exam taking technique is awful enough as is (no sleep the night before, wing most of them, am always dizzy due to health problems etc).

Yeah the 80% exam is really annoying. In Masters the majority are 60%, but I don't do well with exams (even though I've been at uni for 5 years) as I suffer from anxiety. It doesn't matter whether I get between 90% and 100% in assignments, in exams the pressure really gets to me and my performance drops. I REALLY HATE EXAMS!!!

I have bad anxiety too along with horrible exam taking technique, which is why I usually try maximise my marks in non-exam assessments. I'm one of those people who also gets 90-100% in most assessments (providing I'm not overly ill) but have come to expect to do much much worse in the exam setting. I wish the exams weren't weighted as much. I'd say anything over 65% is good xD Mind you, I know for a fact my high school dux and everyone else from my high school who went to uni with me are struggling to get Ps yet here most of us are complaining about H2s/H1s.

@Shenz0r and REBORN: You're like the next-gen stonecolds o___o congratulations

GERM10005 - German 2
Passed
2013, Semester 2, Parkville, On Campus, Semester 2   Credit Points: 12.5
Mark: 89 Grade: First Class Honours (H1)

Another 89 for German! I'm honestly absolutely elated; I worked very hard throughout the semester over the eleven assessments but when exam time came I had to focus on Chem 2 and Genetics and I ended up with a single night to revise my German, AND the exam itself was far stranger and more poorly weighted than the one in German 1 (there were 35/100 points on the culture, which was not taught in class and used grammar and words outside our official vocabulary list). I was not expecting this at all (a la Genetics), but rather something closer to 70, after that horrible exam in which I desperately scrambled to write coherent passages. So yeah, I feel like this is as good, or better than I could have hoped to get after that dreadful exam.

tl;dr WOO HAPPY YES MARK GOOD YAY

Also, I think what Ballerina said is important, since this thread is biased towards traditionally high achievers, but really the marks being posted, for the most part, show a heap of competence, and marks aren't everything (particularly for those people who cannot function in exams, and I used to be like that, having an anxiety disorder myself - it's not really a fair way of assessing such people at all). If you were happy with your individual achievement before you came to this thread, you should stay happy with it after you leave!
