Did you find that subject as crappy as I did? I did it first semester last year and it was 90% preachy environmentalism.

Yes, I also particularly found it annoying how harshly they marked the assignments, but I guess that also goes for all the other Environments subjects I have done (that's why I always prefer a subject to have an exam). :/

UNIB20013 - Body, Mind and Medicine: A Dissection
Passed
2013, Semester 2, Parkville, On Campus, Semester 2   Credit Points: 12.5
Mark: 77 Grade: Second Class Hons A (H2A)

That 50% weighting on the essay really screwed my score. :(

I did this as a breadth and did the same as you. That 50% essay is evil!

I'm thinking of doing this. What are the negatives regarding the essay?

The final essay is meant to be a critical review of a piece of literature in the history of medicine, or a TV show/film/whatever. For the highest marks you need to try to link up the ideas in whatever you're reviewing with the themes discussed in the lectures (there is quite a heavy emphasis on reductionism throughout the whole subject).

I don't really know where I went wrong on the essay since there are no comments left behind though. I haven't heard of too many people scoring H1 on the subject so far. 50% of your mark is determined by the essay and that's solely marked by your tutor. My tutor happened to be the lecturer and I think he's one of the more stricter markers.

Y'all suck. I worked my arse off for an 80% average. I am so pissed about 75% in Calculus 2, in fact it seems so weird I'm going to ask to have a look at my paper.

There's nothing wrong with being eager to see our results. Just look at VCE students.

Except for the fact that finding out you failed a few days earlier means your mood is ruined earlier :P

Unless you're a Monash Student who calming waits, stress free with no care in the world for a few weeks, enjoying the holidays :D (even if you think you've failed as you can't do anything about it, and just wait) :P

...I'd rather it the Monash way, all in one bit hit instead of in dribs and drabs, but just pointing out it's not everyone on AN

There's nothing wrong with being eager to see our results. Just look at VCE students.
You'll realise that when you get to uni a lot less will care as much (unless it's a result that will get you into postgrad or something similar), it's not VCE anymore (well first years may still care a bit but after that it seems to taper off a a bit more), and AN isn't really representative of the student population :P

Melbourne technically get it all in one hit (on the formal results page), it's just you can exploit the web 2.0 "study plan" to see them early.
