Binders vs Notebooks?

Hey guys, what do you prefer to take notes in? A binder or a notebook? Which one would you suggest and why? I'm a left hander by the way. Would taking notes be in a binder hard?

I use a notebook with perforated pages, with binder holes for taking notes, then I can put it into a binder, either as a book or looseleaf. Best of both worlds  :)

I use a combination of a portfolio and notebook when taking notes in class. With binders I find them really 'bulky' and after using them in Year 7, I disliked it because of it. Portfolios and notebooks gave me more freedom (even if it's two things to carry) but the only downside would be that with binders you can always replenish it with lots of loose-leaf paper compared to notebooks which can't (always have to buy new notebooks every time). Despite that, I've been using the notebook/portfolio combination and it's worked for me for all my classes :)

Not sure if taking notes in a binder is hard (since you're left-handed) but my brother is left-handed and he  said he doesn't seem to have a problem using a binder (he uses one for English which is divided into 5 aspects of English (or themes for his year [I can't remember LOL]). Takes time filling it with paper though :P

I use a combination of the two. Notes I find are easier to lose track of, where its much easier to notice a full notebook when its missing rather than a couple of pieces of loose leaf paper. I then put my notebooks into binders along with some plastic pockets and loose leaf anyway just in case and have a binder for different study areas (eg, different binders for english topics, different binders for each history revolution)

I find it really depends on the subject. For maths, I'm using exercise books but for everything else it's a binder. For HHD, I have one for unit 3 and one for unit 4 and a tab per SAC and plastic pockets for each dot point. That's what I did for food tech this year and it worked really well.

For biology, I've got a spiral exercise book for questions that has holes punched into it so I can put it in a binder. Then it's loose leaf for notes :)
