transferring from commerce to science?

Hey guys, im going to be dropping vce chemistry as i have 0 hope of passing, but i want to do science at melbourne when i graduate. is it possible to enter in a commerce degree, and in first semester do like 2 science subjects + physics fundamentals, and a commerce subject, then transfer straight across? basically what is the quickest way to go from commerce(or arts) -> science, by doing the least amount of non science subjects possible(obviously ill have to do some, i think?) so i can keep my breadth options open?
thanks guys !

Save yourself the hassle and just keep Chemistry. All you need us 25 in it. If your capable of getting into Melbourne Commerce than surely you can get 25 in Chemistry?

No actually haha, I understand what you mean but I'm just terrible at chemistry. I do well in all of my other subjects but I can't pass any chemistry sacs without a redemption.  I appreciate the thought but I'm just curious about the course transferring stuff, as the decision about dropping chemistry has been made

Also, would it be easier to transfer from monash science to Melbourne science, or Melbourne Commerce(or arts) to uom science

Commerce -> Science, since the clearly-in ATAR is invariably higher.
VCE: Chemistry | Biology (2011) | English (2011) | Environmental Science | Mathematical Methods CAS

2013-2015: BSc [Zoology] @ UoM | DLang [German - DISCONTINUED]
2016: GDSc [Botany] @ UoM
2017-2018: MSc [Biosciences - Zoology] @ UoM

Summer: BOTA30006

S1: BOTA20001 | EVSC20004 | BOTA30003 | BIOL90001

S2: GEOG20009 | BOTA30002 | BOTA30005 | EVSC20003 | NRMT90002

Subject and major reviews incoming :)

It is easier to transfer from whichever you will get a higher average in.  Melbourne has no preference for Melbourne students.
But, everyone feels the way you do about year 11 chemistry.  I was going to drop it and ended up with a 38 raw (I THINK).  Just stick with it imo.
2009 ENTER: 99.05
2014: BSci Hons (Microbiology/Immunology) at UoM
2015+: PhD (Immunology) at UoM

simpak's right, I felt the same too. One semester of stoichiometry feels like the worst thing ever. I did way too little work in Year 12 Chem and still managed a 33 raw with an abominable teacher, you'll be fine :) Transferring is probably harder than getting a 25 in Chemistry.

Unless you work real hard for those commerce subjects, transferring is not as easy as it sounds. You still need to maintain the 75% average at the end of the day.
I remember doing Chem 3/4 with 1 practice exam and nothing else the whole year and getting 33 raw. As long as you have a general idea of the concepts you would be able to score much higher than that. Maybe get a tutor?

Just work on understanding those concepts. As others have said, transferring is just a waste of time and effort.
BSc (2015), MD1 (2016)
Tutoring in 2016: http://www.tutorfinder.com.au/tutors/detail.php?TutorID=78301
Chuck a PM if interested :)

Available for tutoring on the summer holidays for university subjects or VCe.
Also tutoring for the Melbourne uni MMIs (medical/physiotherapy interviews)

Please don't PM me for lecture slides or recordings. I don't have them anymore.

I failed VCE chemisty 1&2 (I mean literally got an F on my report card). I was strongly advised not to continue in yr 12. But I continued and worked hard at it in yr 12 - and got 35 SS.

Nothing in life that is worth doing is easy, if you put some effort into it; 25 is very easy to get. Especially if you are confident you can get into B.Comm at Melb.
