Hey guys, on the very last day of school i decided to pick up revs next year, and i was wondering what i should do to over the holidays for it? we are studying the american, then russian revolutions.
basically, what should i do? how should i take notes? do i have to remember every date for everything? make notes for every dot point of the study design?
thanks guys :)

I actually do not recommend doing too much holiday prep for revs- it is a complicated subject and you're best served keeping up to date with your teacher's guidance (if you really would like to begin in earnest, do try to find a tutor who can guide you).
Watch some docos on your revolutions on youtube (they are rarely not historically accurate but give you a good idea), read your textbook if you're super keen..!

Well, hindsight is always 20/20. If you are keen, read through the textbook to get a grasp of the EVENTS that occur in the Revolutions. That is, for example for the Russian Revolution- read understand the concept of the life in pre-revolution Russia. Then begin going through about when the revolution starts (with the Bloody Sunday Massacre) and work your way around there. It'll definitely be covered in class, but having some sort of understanding before you begin will allow you to accelerate your understanding than those who never touched the subject before.
I actually have no idea what I'm saying or talking about.

If you are serious about doing well in Revs then you should definitely do some preparation over the summer. At the very least you should be looking over the Study Design and getting your brain around the course structure. Reading a 'simple' overview of your revolution is also useful. I suggest emailing or talking to your teacher to ask them for preparation ideas.

I know this is a late reply but perhaps you are able to use this in the future. A good way to study is by making revision cards or down loading an app on your phone were you can create quizzes and test yourself. Also read through your text books and answer and outstanding coursework you have, if all your coursework has been completed and you still feel as though you need to study I suggest emailing your teacher and asking for extended work.

I hope this has helped you and you can use this for future references.
