Do i need to know this stuff?

In chapter one theres a whole bunch of stuff about differences between psychologists and psychiatrists, correlational research, and areas of specialisation within psychology, do I need to know these? Theres nothing about it on the study design. I asked a teacher about it and he said I needed to, so i'm confused atm

I learnt most of that in year 11 and didn't touch on it once this year. But maybe someone else did?
I didn't need it and it wasn't on the exam. Think it's more of an introduction.

But wait for others' opinions too.  Just skip it for now until you get a definite answer?

I doubt that it's important or even required, because I haven't seen it on the study design for psych.

But double check and I would recommend getting the up to date study design because it's your bible for year 12 it tells you everything you need to know.

Yeah I remember it from Units 1/2, but theres nothing on it on the study design so I'll just skip it i guess haha, thanks anyway.

You don't need to know anything from units 1/2 apart from research methods.

What everyone else has said, rule of thumb is know pretty much what is within the Grivas textbook (with the only carry-over from 1/2 being research methods)

There was a box about these areas in the Grivas textbook, but it wasn't apart of the actual central text hence the confusion  haha

Are you beginning to study for psychology already? I'm going to try start around the 3rd/4th.

Yeah I'm planning on completing a chapter every week and a half or so :p So far ive done notes and questions for Chapter one, going to start next week

I wouldn't be doing notes on chapters. You should do notes for each dot point in AOS cause there is so much useless crap in text books.
